The Laconia Muskrats lost 4-1 in Connecticut Sunday night, against the NECBL’s other first-year team, Bristol Collegiate.
Pat Epps (Central Connecticut State Universty) scored Laconia’s lone run on a wild pitch in the second inning. The Muskrats were held to just two hits the rest of the game.
Bristol starting pitcher Matt Carasiti (St. John’s University) earned the victory in his first start of the season. He pitched five innings, allowing an earned run on five hits, with four walks and four strikeouts.
Laconia’s Dan White (UMass Lowell) took the loss. In five innings pitched he struck out two, walked three and allowed four hits. All three of Bristol’s runs were earned. Boxscore
Laconia is back on the road Monday night, as they face the Lowell All-Americans at Holman Stadium in Nashua, New Hampshire. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
