Meet the Muskrats

This week’s featured player is Muskrats Pitcher Nevin Wilson from Scottsdale, Arizona. Nevin is a freshman lefthanded pitcher at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Nevin is a teammate of current Muskrat, Vicente Conde, and former Muskrats Drew Fann and Will Johnson. The Philadelphia Phillies chose Nevin in the 44th round of the 2011 MLB Draft.

What are you most looking forward to in coming to Laconia?
Getting a chance to meet the other players and play with some of the best baseball players in the country.

Why did you choose Vanderbilt?
I wanted to play in the SEC (Southeastern Conference). Also Vandy offers a great combination of academics and athletics, plus the coaching staff is outstanding.

Favorite Movie?

Happy Gilmore.

If you didn’t play baseball what would you be doing?

Basketball, i’ve played my whole life and only started pitching a few years ago.

What is it like to be drafted?

It’s a dream come true. To see your name beside a Major League team is exciting and humbling.
