Laconia Muskrats 2011 Coaching Staff
Matt Williams – Manager
Matt Williams will be the first manager of the Laconia Muskrats. Williams currently is the recruiting coordinator/pitching coach at Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. SMC has been ranked in the NJCAA Top 25 every year Williams has been on staff and made two World Series appearances. 2010 will be Williams’ fifth season with the Pioneers.
Williams played collegiately at SMC and also pitched professionally for the Mid Missouri Mavericks of the Frontier League. Williams was the head coach of the Spartanburg, SC Post 28 American Legion team. In the summer of 2009 Williams was the pitching coach for the Columbia Blowfish of the Coastal Plains League.
Ed Marko – Pitching Coach
Ed Marko will be the Muskrats pitching coach in 2010. Marko is a former professional pitcher who brings a wealth of experience to the Muskrats. Marko has been the pitching coach at DI Buffalo, NJCAA power, Grayson (TX) College, and spent the summer of 2008 in the Cape Cod League with the Bourne Braves. Marko is currently the pitching coach at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School in Chardon, OH.
Marko played collegiately for Cleveland State University and then the University of Texas Pan American where he earned his degree. Marko pitched three seasons in professional baseball for four different teams. Marko pitched for the Mid Missouri Mavericks one year prior to Muskrats Manager, Matt Williams.
Matt Alison – Hitting Coach
Matt Alison will be the Muskrats hitting coach in 2010. Alison is currently the hitting coach at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas. Alison enters his seventh season as an assistant on MNU staff. Additionally Alison has experience with summer collegiate baseball having coached in the prestigious Alaska Baseball League with the Athletes In Action Fire. He was also the head coach of the Bear Valley Rapids in the Boise Summer Baseball League.
Alison played two seasons at Mount Vernon College in Ohio before finishing his playing career at MNU.
